Yes Opeth Kick's ass, and I got the chance to see them LIVE on Feb 18th, 2004. All I can say is you should be jealous because it was amazing. Opeth rules because they are the Led Zeppelin of death metal, they combine many different form's of music into a huge masterpiece (mixing Death metal with an often progressive folk rock). Many complain that they are not heavy enough, or many more may complain that they are too heavy. Opeth has everything a good band should: great guitars, musical variety (listen to Blackwater Park and attempt to prove me wrong) double bass kickin drums, and Mikael Åkerfeldt (lead singer) is one of the few death metal vocalists who can actually sing, and then switch to a brutal roar. But enough of my ranting on how great they are and see a few cool pics:
